I tako se, 10-15 sessiona kasnije, naši junaci nađoše na drugom planetu (Triaxus ili tako nekako) u sred rata između dva kontinenta. Igrom slučaja i plot advancementa, zatekli su se u tvrđavi pod opsadom kojoj je trebalo pomoći da izdrži nalet nadmoćne vojske.
Nakon uvodne borbe za obranu nekoliko obrambenih balista od huliganski raspoloženih barbara, požurili su na drugi kraj utvrde prema kojem su 4 7-eroglave cyrohydre gurale 2 gargantuan siege enginea, praćene vojskom barbara i parom frost dreakeova. Hrabri branitelji bi se teško oduprijeli nemanima, ali neustrašivi* Ekvius je po običaju odlučio stati goloruk pred nadiruću armiju i u maniri nešto poznatijeg kolege, reći: "You shall not pass!"
U nedostatku prikladnijih figura snašli smo se ovako



Kao argument ovoj prilično hrabroj tvrdnji, ponudio je jedan Wall of Force iz svog građevnog repertoara. Nekoliko vatrenih rundi kasnije, The Raging Bros (Ancalagon i Rossom) su odlučili uletit u siege engine i sabotirat ga iznutra.



Malo piratskog upadanja nikad ne škodi. Walking the plank till the next week...

* Određena strana je imala prigovor na ovaj epitet navodeći kao argument manje bitnu činjenicu da je omiljeni čarobnjak letio i bio pod djelovanjem greater invisibility spella. Glupost. To je kao da se fighteru koji juriša na armiju spočitava nošenje oklopa. Pih!

Da malo oživim ovaj thread.
Jednom kad smo obranili jednu tvrđavu i probili drugu te ubili njenog overlorda, plešuća koliba nas je odvela ni manje ni više nego u - Rusiju. Da, planet Zemlja, Sibir, Rusija. I to početkom prošlog stoljeća u vrijeme oktobarske revolucije. Meta - Rasputin. Da, THE rasputin.
Nakon šta su nas pošteno izrešetala moderna oružja, animirani tenkovi i svakojaka čudesa sa Zemlje augmentirana Rasputinovom magijom, uspjeli smo dokusurit i ovog zlikovca i time okončat petu od šest knjiga. Danas smo započeli posljednju bauljajući po Baba Yaginoj kolibi s namjerom da je napokon oslobodimo. I tako naiđemo na određeno stablo iz kojeg izađe određena fey kreatura i uputi nas što nam je činiti. Prvi korak je - "impresionirati ovo biće iza vas". Moramo određeni item namočit njegovom krvlju kako bismo otključali prvu babušku unutar koje je zatvorena Baba.
A iza nas ogromno zmajoliko biće koje maže avanturiste za međuobork. U prvoj rundi Ancalagonu i Ekviusu skine 2/3 healtha, a u drugoj Rossoma ostavi na 1/6 healtha. (Inače Rossoma je na prošlom sessionu Rasputin ubio Destruction spellom i od njega nije ostala ni prašina. Taman smo kupili True Resurrection i vratili ga.) E al tad Ekvius mudro odluči iskušat spell Prismatic Spray. Nakon uspješnog cast level checka za spell resistance treba odrolat d8 i konzultirat tablicu za vidit koji efekt je pogodio metu (spell ima random efekte). Na kocki ispadne, naravno, 7. Sent to another plane. DM rolla Will save. Puff! It's gone. Sitan problem u tome je šta mu do tad nismo napravili niti jedan jedini HP damagea pa nemamo krvi...
Ekvius samozadovoljno pogleda ekipu (jesam li spomenuo da mu je Wis score nešto niži od prosječnog?), koja ga ne pogleda nazad nimalo oduševljeno.

Srećom, domislimo se vrlo elegantnog i brzog načina za vratit čudovište na našu lokaciju. Nabuffamo se pošteno, pozicioniramo i čekamo. Zmajoliki se stvori, zaurla, pogleda nas i kaže: "Nije loše! Možete proć." Zatim se zareže i pusti malo krvi te ode svojim putem...

- Jedediah Hickett, human gunslinger 5 / oracle 4; poludjeli lovac na vještice kojeg je određena baba cursala pa živi već parsto godina, ali je vezan za određeni lokalitet. spaja vrline Ekviusa i Yurija u smislu da sipa nemilosrdnu baražnu vatru iz boomsticka (puške). barem dok mu se ne zaštopa, šta je otprilike svaku drugu rundu [rekli biste da se roll 1-3 na d20 očekuje cca 15% puta kad bacate, ali neee... bliže je nekih 40%]
- Rutgar Ulcraft, dwarf cleric af Abadar 9; što je družina bez bradonje? teško oklopljeni pop na solo questu za određenom relikvijom, nedavno priključen partyu. pokazao se korisnim kad je u pitanju izbjegavanje umiranja ostalih članova, a i inače

Catalyst: close-quarters combat with angry white dragon, coupled with unfortunate positioning
Details: Dropped into negative health by Logrivich's AoO, unconscious Rosom slipped straight into Ekvius' 30ft-deep spiked pit & got impaled (and broken) to death; once the rest of party made it safely to Shrine of Everbloom, Solveig Ayrdahl raised the unfortunate dervish

Classes/levels: gunslinger (musket master) 5 / inquisitor (witch hunter) 3

Location: entrance to Artrosa, on top of the Maiden
Catalyst: somewhat ironically, witch tree guardian
Details: after firing of salvo of bullets at the witch tree on the onset of battle (and taking down tree's hp by 40%), magical plant grabbed Jedediah and flensed it with its' tendrils; once rest of the team took down offensive tree (also after three(!) critical hits), gunslinger was resurrected via scroll (found days before in Dancing Hut's library)

Adventure: The Frozen Stars
Location: Spurhorn (outside the walls)
Catalyst: unfortunate positioning (again)
Details: after having his air walk dispelled, Yuri fell 170 ft on the snow-covered rock, and afterwards was swiftly dropped into negatives by multiple hostiles; several rounds later, Ancalagon is battling ceustodaemons in an effort to protect fallen comrade, at which point a daemon exhales electrical breath on Ulfen oracle - at the moment standing over Yuri's unconscious body; luckily, -28 hp was swiftly turned to -1 hp and stable thanks to hero points

Adventure: The Frozen Stars
Location: Ivoryglass
Catalyst: another angry white dragon, this one (very) old & vain
Details: after repeatedly hitting Yrax with multiple arrow shots, dragon warlord targeted the silent ranger with several attacks over two rounds, the last one being flyby attack powered by Greater Vital Strike for 77 dmg; Yuri's mangled body fell to the ground (-37 hp) where he was promptly revived by Rutger the cleric's breath of life

Details: Ancalagon fell under the influence of bogeyman's crushing despair, so when faced with his greatest fear - Old Pa Sigurdsson - via phantasmal killer was unable to cope with the pure dread & simply dropped dead; his visit to afterlife was brief as Baba Yaga's spectre (and hero point) took him away from Moloch's throne and back to the world of living

7*Name: Yuri the Wanderer
Race: human (Ulfen)
Classes/levels: ranger 13
Adventure: Rasputin Must Die!
Location: no-man's land around Akuvskaya prison camp
Catalyst: animated tanks are tough
Details: while everyone's else first instinct was to either go invisible or take cover behind Dancing Hut, Yuri courageously (although foolishly) started raining magical arrows on tanks - and got machine gun barrage & cannon fire in response; 5 hits (and 2 crits!) later, Yuri was down to -43 hp & pretty much dead... or he would be unless hero points fixed him back to -1 hp

8*Name: Ancalagon Sigurdsson
Race: human (Ulfen)
Classes/levels: oracle (spirit guide) 13 / bloodrager (arcane) 1
Adventure: Rasputin Must Die!
Location: coffin room (Hut's Earth configuration)
Catalyst: Rasputin's counterattack
Details: in preparation of final assault on Akuvskaya Monastery & calibration of World Anchors, the party cleared half of Akuvaskaya perimeter defenses and returned to Dancing Hut for rest; their rest was first interrupted by Radimir, whom they let in the Hut in the guise of Alexei - the gorynych was dealt with swiftly - but second interruption was much more lethal; Rasputin's astral projection accompanied by polkovnik Lavrenti, shadow demons & 5 remaining zemlemer yetis barged into the Hut - Lavrenti swiftly grabbed Anastasia and planeshifted, Rasputin once more killed Viktor Miloslav (this time with destruction), and rest of the party would be next if it weren't for heroics of Sigurdsson brothers and Yuri's deadly aim... however, while chopping Rasputin's projection in pieces, enraged Ancalagon was knocked into negatives by yeti's claws - and thus out of rage AND under the lethal threshold; soon after he was revived via resurrection scroll

Catalyst: trench zombies...
Details: ... although in all honesty Yuri got hit so many times during the clearing out of World Anchors - his hit points fluctuated from single digits into full health several times - that getting shot by zombies' rifles 4 times in a row, including critical, was barely topping on the cake; he was flying at the moment, so it was the fall that finished him off - besides, he was promptly revived by oracle's breath of life (again)

Details: after witnessing what Caigrel, the Coven Queen, did to her love, Jadrenka, Marislova dashed forward to release her from crucifix; this led to a direct and SOLO confrontation with transformed Caigrel/annis hag - which cut Marislova to shreds and then used her as fuel for death knell

Pažljivom inspekcijom da se zaključit kako od početne ekipe za sad jedino Ekvius nije pokazao interes za prelazak na drugu stranu. Određena obećanja su dana od strane DMa po tom pitanju, ostaje za vidit šta posljednji modul nosi poslovično neomiljenom čarobnjaku...

Zadnji update

This marked 5th PC death in 5th module alone, and 5th fatality by this same player. There were 11 PC deaths in campaign so far, with number rising up to 16 fatalities when allied NPCs and near-deaths (averted by "creative" use of hero points) are included.


Race: human (Ulfen)
Classes/levels: bard (dervish) 13 / barbarian (urban) 1
Adventure: Rasputin Must Die!
Location: Thrice-Tenth Presbytery
Catalyst: Mad Monk's wrath
Details: Rosom pointed out flaw in otherwise "flawless" Rasputin's (GM's) defense - badly oriented antilife shell - then promptly exploited said flaw; Mad Monk corrected this flaw on the next round, while at the same time annihilating Rosom with destruction; hapless Sigurdsson was revived 4 days later via commisioned true ressurection scroll


Uz to, pronašao sam komentar uz smrt broj 6 na paizovom forumu (nisam ni zna da dm tamo objavljuje nase nesriće).

Ancalagon is older step-brother of the hapless dervish that was already featured on this obituaries. He's a heavy-hitting battle oracle capable of surviving things that would finish off less optimized characters. He always has a trick up his sleeve, be it an immediate spell, save re-roll, magical talisman or weapon made of special material. His backstory includes military training, father issues and meddling with fiends of Lower Planes. He is one of the original three adventuring "Sons of Heldren" - and his time to die has finally came...

Following Dancing Hut's transportation from Triaxus to Siberia, ranger and cleric were missing (one being stuck in a vision of another time, the other trapped inside magic mirror). The rest of the party started searching for them, leaving domovoi gulag and venturing straight into gingerbread hut. Although Ancalagon managed to shrug off effects of suggestion trap and deepest fear aura, he was affected by bogeyman's crushing despair - which made him especially susceptible to phantasmal killer on the next round. Overcome by pure dread, oracle dropped dead. His visit to afterlife was brief as Baba Yaga's spectre (and hero points) took him away from Moloch's throne and back to the world of living.
Two of boogeyman were almost too big of a bite for the party of three - with oracle dead and dervish frightened, it was up to conjurer to deal with them solo. Ulfen conjurer is played by methodical and resourceful player - after going invisible he split the room in two via wall of force, in order to protect incapacitated comrades. Then he buffed himself with spell turning and see invisibility, and proceeded to elegantly remove hostiles by disintegrate and suffocation. Afterwards he dressed himself in posh clothes from strangled bogeyman (hat included) - since he (somewhat rightfully so) considers himself "THE bogeyman", being all elusive and deadly.

Vidim da vama prijevremeni žalosni rastanci sa PC-evima ne ugrožavaju previše narativ. Šta, maksimalna orjentacija na klanje, a priča je ionako tu da popuni rupe između encountera?
Jel bude u vas mass combata, tipa s multiplim vojskama? Kako to rješavate?

Da, vidim da smrti igrača ne fali - što je dobra stvar!.

sve u svemu prelistao sam ovaj post i izgleda kao da svi znaju kaj rade i dobro se zabavljate

Ne ugrožavaju jer ih vraćamo među žive. Osnovni razlog zašto igramo s hero poenima je taj šta je očekivano puno smrti (takav je modul) pa da nam to ne usporava narativ previše. Uživamo u encounterima, ali priča je itekako bitna. Zapravo, priča je toliko bitna da baš i nema mista nekom velikom roleplayanju i sidequestanju.

Kako misliš multiple vojskama? Bilo je često masovki s brojnijim neprijateljem. Rasputin je kraj sebe ima 2 vampira, shadow demona, erodaemonicu i undead pale snipera. Prije final showdowna morali smo bauljat po praktički vojarni punoj svega i svačega i u pravilu bi svaki kombat privuka nove i nove snage tako da smo stalno bili na rubu (i preko njega) masovki.

U jednom trenu, dok smo onesposobljavali world engine (koji je prizva određeni feyevski plane na Zemlju), došlo je do oštećenja istog pa se pojavio nekakav rift iz kojeg su počeli ispadat ratoborni feyevi koji su krenuli napadat svih. Mi smo se uglavnom povukli sa strane i gledali kako nam pomažu, al da smo bili debili, mogli smo se i s njima šajbat.

Znalo je bit fajtova koji traju po dva sessiona (inače sessioni nam u pravilu traju 4h).

Mislim da san u nekom od prijašnjih postova spomenija opsadu na Triaxusu (drugi planet). Tu smo doslovno pičili s jednog kraja tvrđave na drugi i pomagali di je najviše curilo. Mlatili se s "komandosima" koji su uletili, borili protiv war hydri i ekipe oko njih, uništavali siege engine, mlatili avijaciju... Poprilično masivno, ako mene pitaš. :)

Većina nas ima višegodišnje iskustvo u igranju i/ili vođenju (uglavnom i duže od 10 godina), a ima nas i par okorijelih optimizatora. :D
Da, ovo je jedna od najzabavnijih kampanja koje igramo. I najduža. A, ne dogodi li se nešto neočekivano, bit će i prva koju smo završili. I to od 1. do 16. lvla!
